The Skeld Pier Trust (SPT) is a registered charity tasked with the care and upkeep of the pier at Skeld Harbour, Shetland.
SPT vision is for a vibrant, community based facility which will ensure community cohesion, diversity and inclusion for all, including wheelchair users and special needs groups by designing the facilities to be accessible to all.
SPT works closely with other voluntary organisations in the Skeld and Reawick district, namely Skeld Waterfront Trust, Reawick & District Boating Club, This community although numerically small is forward looking and pro-active in its wish to attract new families into the area and the increasing school role is testimony to these efforts. Skeld harbour with its marina and campsite is the main focus of commercial, leisure and educational activity and with the Leonard Anderson Memorial Wildlife Hide, the area provides opportunity to study at first hand the great wildlife of Skelda Voe with its caves and skerries abounding with life.
